Lavender-Earl Grey Tea Martini

August 26, 2014 by theleafycauldron

martini4This cocktail is shimmering gold. This cocktail is original. This cocktail is amazing. I wish I drank liquor because it’s just so beautiful and full of things I love (save alcohol). It’s a cruel irony that I have so much fun with mixology when I can’t even taste the results. I can only pawn them off on people who will appreciate them. If you feel you’re right for the job of Official Cocktail Tester, you should send along your CV and we’ll see what we can do. Vegans just aren’t my ideal cocktail audience, so I fear this will languish in the depths of my blog with no one to try it.

What it is is the perfect harmony of lavender and earl grey tea, blueberry and gin. It has a couple other ingredients to pull it together and make this stunning martini shine. If you’re not sold on the delicate, herbal flavour of lavender yet, this is great place to start. All my measurements are in ounces for this cocktail because I measured everything with a shot glass.

Lavender-Earl Grey Martinti
Makes 4 cocktails

3 oz. gin
3 oz. vodka
1.5 oz lavender -earl grey tea syrup
2 tablespoons crushed blueberries, plus more whole blueberries for garnish
1 cup club soda
Ice

Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and stir. Strain out the ice and muddled blueberries. Serve with whole blueberries on a swizzle stick or toothpick.

About

We here at The Leafy Cauldron believe food should be life affirming. We can do better! Started in 2011 as passion project to share a love of Harry Potter and vegan food, we've now branched out to focus on fun, fresh and innovative recipes that also happen to be allergy-friendly with zero compromise when it comes to taste and texture.

Dissatisfied with some common attitudes in vegan cooking, we decided to start a log of our own kitchen adventures. You’ll find fun and fresh recipes here presented in a to-the-point fashion. I promise to never, ever use the words “real food”.

If you're dealing with allergies and you're hoping to find a familiar recipe, let us know on Facebook and we'll try to help you out!

All cartoon artwork you see on the blog is made by the immensely talented Helen Bee Illustration!
